- On July 24, 2016, Chris Froome wins his third Tour de France. He crosses the finish line in Paris, France with his teammates right behind him. Froome is Britain's only three-time winner of the 21-stage race. During the race, Froome built up a commanding four-minute lead, earning him the leading yellow jersey and securing his victory. He said to BBC News, "It's an absolutely amazing feeling. It feels like a privilege to be in this position. I've always had my team-mates around me."
