- Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan Pledge $3 Billion to End Disease
- On Sept. 21, 2016, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan announce a plan to end disease by the end of this century. To jump-start this process, their charitable foundation, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, is dedicating $3 billion over the next ten years to accelerate scientific research, tools, and techniques into solving disease. The money is not intended to focus on specific diseases but basic scientific research.
