Hundreds Kidnapped by ISIS Outside Mosul

On Nov. 8, 2016, ISIS kidnaps almost 300 civilians in Tal Afar, a city 47 miles west of Mosul, Iraq. The fate of the kidnapped civilians is unknown, but according to the UN, 18 of the city's 30 sheiks have been killed. Iraqi government forces have been trying to liberate Mosul since October, moving throughout the region, town by town, fighting ISIS militants.
