- Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert Sentenced
- Former Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, was sentenced to 15 months after it was revealed that he committed illegal bank transactions to cover up other illegal activities. During the trial, Hastert, for the first time ever, admitted to sexually abusing some of the young athletes on the high school wrestling team he coached in Illinois decades before.
