Finis Ewing McLEAN, Congress, KY (1806-1881)

McLEAN Finis Ewing , a Representative from Kentucky; born near Russellville, Logan County, Ky., February 19, 1806; attended the country schools and Lebanon Academy in Logan County; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Elkton, Ky., in 1827; also engaged in agricultural pursuits; member of the State house of representatives in 1837; elected as a Whig to the Thirty-first Congress (March 4, 1849-March 3, 1851); resumed the practice of law and also engaged in agricultural pursuits; moved to Andrew County, Mo., in 1860 and engaged in farming until 1865; moved to Greencastle, Ind., in 1865, in which city he died April 12, 1881; interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
