Frederick Avery JOHNSON, Congress, NY (1833-1893)

JOHNSON Frederick Avery , a Representative from New York; born in Fort Edward, Warren County, N.Y., January 2, 1833; attended the common schools and was graduated from the Glens Falls Academy; engaged in banking and in the wool business in New York City and later in banking in Glens Falls; president of the village of Glens Falls; elected as a Republican to the Forty-eighth and Forty-ninth Congresses (March 4, 1883-March 3, 1887); was not a candidate for renomination in 1886; died at Glens Falls, Warren County, N.Y., on July 17, 1893; interment in the Bay Street Cemetery.
