    Starting on this date in 1990, and lasting for over 48 hours, a slow moving cold front caused extremely heavy rain and thundershowers in the southeast United States. The subsequent flooding killed at least 22 people, 13 in Alabama alone. The damage was estimated in the hundred of millions of dollars, while 26 counties in Alabama were declared disaster areas.
