Taylor Lautner played dark and mysterious Jacob Black in the movie versions of Stephenie Meyer's novel Twilight and its sequels. After years of martial arts competitions and small acting jobs (and cartoon voice work), his athleticism helped land him a lead role in the Robert Rodriguez movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D (2005, with George Lopez). He also appeared in the Steve Martin comedy Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005, with Jaime King), but his big break came with the success of Twilight (2008, starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart). For the sequel, 2009's The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Lautner had to beef up and get more muscular for a more significant role as a Native American "shapeshifter" -- and as a love interest for the character Bella (Stewart). He also appeared in the 2010 sequel Eclipse.
Lautner appeared as Christian Slater‘s son in the short-lived 2008 series My Own Worst Enemy.
