Name at birth: Satchel Ronan O'Sullivan Farrow
Ronan Farrow hit the scene in 2013 as the son of actress Mia Farrow, in a sudden splash of media attention about whether his father was singer Frank Sinatra or filmmaker Woody Allen, two of Farrow's past husbands. At the same time, he was revealed to be a brainy social activist. A graduate of Yale Law School, Farrow was admitted to the New York Bar in 2009, but went to work for UNICEF, with a focus on fundraising for Africa. He spent the next few years working as a journalist and activist with high-level connections, but his celebrity status didn't really take off until 2013, when his mother hinted that he might be Frank Sinatra's son, even though she and Allen had been in a relationship since 1980, several years before Ronan's birth. Ronan then participated in the public feud between Farrow and Allen, siding with Farrow and calling Allen's marriage to Ronan's adopted sister, Soon Yi, a "moral transgression." His emergence in the gossip sheets coincided with a new deal as a TV host on Ronan Farrow Daily in 2014, a news and opinion program on MSNBC.
