Queen Elizabeth II's second son, the one who married Fergie
Born Andrew Albert Christian Edward at Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II. His place as younger brother to Prince Charles, heir to the throne, has meant Andrew has moved in the line of succession from second, behind Charles, to eighth, behind the grandchildren of Charles and Princess Diana. As a young man, Prince Andrew joined the Royal Navy and flew helicopter missions in The Falklands War in 1982 and 1983. Praised for his military service, he returned and occasionally made tabloid news for his dating habits, while taking on the role of public envoy for the royal family. He married Sarah Ferguson in 1986 and was made The Duke of York, but it was a troubled marriage and they separated in 1992, amid more tabloid news of Prince Andrew's dating habits. They divorced in 1996. Since then, Prince Andrew's role as trade envoy and director of charities has earned him headlines only because of dodgy dealings with people like the son of Libya's Muammar Gaddafi and friend-to-billionaires pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Andrew was accused of raping one of Epstein's many accusers, and chose to respond publicly in a BBC interview in November of 2019. The interview did not go well and Andrew withdrew from all public duties.
