Charlotte Casiraghi is the daughter of Princess Caroline
and the granddaughter of Princess Grace
and Prince Rainier
Grimaldi of Monaco. Charlotte Casiraghi's father was Caroline's second husband, the Italian industrialist Stefano Casiraghi. He died in a speed-boating accident in 1990, the year Charlotte turned four. By the time she reached her late teens, Charlotte Casiraghi had become popular with paparazzi and society reporters, who found her stylish good looks to be reminiscent of her mother and grandmother. As a young woman, Charlotte became an avid horsewoman and competed in equestrian events across Europe. She also modeled: the fashion house Gucci began featuring her as a "face of Gucci" in advertisements in 2012. She became a brand ambassador for Chanel in 2020. Charlotte Casiraghi has a son, Raphal, born in 2013; his father is the comedian and actor Gad Elmaleh, with whom Casiraghi had a relationship from 2011-15. Casiraghi also has a son, Balthazar, born in 2018; his father is film producer Dimitri Rassam, whom Casiraghi married on June 1, 2019. Casiraghi also has a stepdaughter, Darya (b. 2011), Rassam's daughter from a previous marriage.
