†Naseem Hamed vacated the WBC title on January 9 after deciding to keep the WBO belt. The WBC only would sanction the Oct. 22, 1999 featherweight title fight between Hamed, the WBO champ, and Cesar Soto, the WBC champ, after both fighters agreed that the winner would keep only one of the belts that was on the line that night.
*Erik Morales won the interim WBC belt that was sanctioned after current WBC featherweight champion Guty Espadas suffered a broken collar bone during training.
