Bonnke, Reinhard

Bonnke, Reinhard, 1940–2019, German evangelist, b. Königsburg (now Kaliningrad, Russia). After studying at the Bible College of Wales (now the Trinity School of Ministry) he became a Pentecostal preacher in Germany. Beginning missionary work in Lesotho in 1967, he spent decades preaching and converting throughout Africa, drawing growing crowds that reached the tens of thousands in the 1980s and continued to grow. In 1974 he founded Christ for All Nations, an evangelical organization that now has offices in the United States and around the world. He retired as its president in 2010.
