Skokie

Skokie skō´kē [key], village (1990 pop. 59,432), Cook co., NE Ill., an industrial suburb adjacent to Chicago inc. 1888. Its varied products include communications, computer, and electrical equipment rubber, iron, and steel products and tools. There are major retail centers and the publishing industry is also important. Hebrew Theological College (1922) was moved there from Chicago in 1958.
