Altamura
Altamura äl˝tämo͞o´rä [key], city (1991 pop. 57,874), Apulia, S Italy. It is a commercial and agricultural center. The imposing Romanesque cathedral, with twin campaniles, was begun by Emperor Frederick II in 1232.
