Sporades spr?d?z, sp?r? [key], islands, E and SE Greece, in the Aegean Sea. They have been grouped variously at different times. The Northern Sporades are generally understood to include Skithos, Skpelos, Alnnisos, Skros, and some smaller islands off the coast of vvoia and W Turkey; the first three form the regional unit of the Sporades. Lmnos and Lesbos are sometimes also included. The Southern Sporades are generally understood to include Ikara, the Fornoi (or Fourni) group, Smos, the Dodecanese, and sometimes Khos. The main products of the Sporades are olive oil, wine, and citrus fruit.
