Saluda

Saluda, river, c.200 mi (320 km) long, rising in the Blue Ridge, W S.C., and flowing southeast across the Piedmont to the Broad River (with which it forms the Congaree) near Columbia. The Saluda Dam (completed 1930) impounds Lake Murray and created Dreher Island State Park; a power plant produces hydroelectricity.
