Hoddesdon

Hoddesdon hŏdz´dən [key], city (1991 pop. 37,960), Hertfordshire, E central England. A residential suburb of London, Hoddesdon has light industries and horticultural works. Broxbourne Woods attracts many London visitors. Several old inns and houses still stand. Izaak Walton , author of The Compleat Angler, used to fish in the Lea River, which flows nearby.
