Bhavnagar bounŭ´gər [key], city (1991 pop. 405,225), Gujarat state, W India, on the Gulf of Khambat the chief port on the Kathiawar peninsula. Its manufactures include chemicals, textiles, wood products, bricks, and tiles it has rail connections. Bhavnagar is home to the Gandhi Museum.
