Dhar

Dhar där [key], town, Madhya Pradesh state, central India. It is a district administrative center and a market for cotton, grains, and oilseed. Dhar was the capital of the kingdom of Malwa and a center of Hindu learning from the 9th to 14th cent. The fort (c.1340) and the Hindola Mahal and Jahaj Mahal are notable landmarks.
