Vonn, Lindsey Caroline

Vonn, Lindsey Caroline, 1984–, American skier, b. St. Paul, Minn., as Lindsey Caroline Kildow, married U.S. skier Thomas Vonn, 2007–13. She competed in her first World Cup event in 2000 and since then has become the only American to win four overall World Cup titles (2008–10, 2012) and to win races in all five Alpine skiing categories. She also is the only American who has won 40 or more World Cup races. She passed the 70 wins mark in 2015 her 63d win that year broke the World Cup record for women. In 2010 Vonn won the downhill gold and super G bronze at the Winter Olympics.
