Yosai

Yosai (Kikuchi Yosai) kēko͞oˈchē yōˈsī [key], 1788–1878, Japanese painter, known for his depiction of historical subject matter. Although he was well trained in the Chinese and Western painting styles, he advocated a revival of the medieval style of Japanese painting.
