Rowley, Keith Christopher

Rowley, Keith Christopher, 1949–, Trinidadian political leader, b. Tobago, grad. Univ. of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. A volcanologist, he worked in academia and industry before entering politics. Rowley, a People's National Movement (PNM) member, was first elected to parliament in 1987; he later held several cabinet posts. Leader of the opposition from 2010, he led the PNM to victory in the 2015 elections and became prime minister. Rowley and the PMN remained in power after the 2020 elections.
