The longest-running drama on television, Law & Order has survived perennial cast turnovers and the ax of fickle network programmers. With Dick Wolfe behind the spin-off, there's no reason to think SVU won't be equally as fresh, well-written, gritty. The format's the same, but the detectives primarily investigate sex crimes. Richard Belzer, fresh from Homicide: Life on the Street reprises his role as conspiracy-theory buff John Munch.
