Some of the best film quotes of all time come from comedy movies. We've come up with a list of the funniest quotes from comedies over the years. Some are iconic Hollywood movie lines, others less so, but if any of these make you laugh or prompt you to check out the movie in question then we've achieved our aim. Enjoy!

  1. "Well, nobody's perfect!" - Some Like It Hot, 1959.

    Jack Lemmon, disguised as a woman - Daphne - to escape the mob. flees by boat. With the driver insistent on marrying Daphne, Lemmon rips off his wig and says, "I'm a man!" The driver is undeterred.

  2. "She doesn't even go here!" - Mean Girls, 2004.

    As we watch various people get ready for a wedding, we see the best man fast asleep. When he wakes and realizes how late he is, this profanity makes up the first five words of the film. 

  3. "I'll have what she's having." - When Harry Met Sally, 1989.

    Meg Ryan fakes an orgasm in front of the other diners. Another woman placing her order, fact - the director's mother., wishes to follow Ms. Ryan's lead. 

  4. "I demand to have some booze!" - Withnail and I, 1987.

    A struggling actor with a drinking problem ends up drinking lighter fluid with unpleasant consequences.

  5. "What's wrong with being sexy?" - This Is Spinal Tap, 1984.

    The record label is refusing to release the eponymous band's new album due to the sexist imagery on the cover. Their guitarist misunderstands the word ‘sexist'.

    King Arthur wishes to pass the intimidating Black Knight and a fight ensues. Having had both arms and legs chopped off, the Black Knight refuses to concede.

    Leslie Nielsen's deadpan doctor asks a passenger if he can land the crewless plane. The passenger responds, "surely you can't be serious?" setting up this classic retort.

    When two police officers exposed a beggar pretending to be a blind, paraplegic Vietnam veteran, he miraculously recovers.

    Billy Crystal is describing how scary he finds the cowboy leading his cattle drive. He then realizes the cowboy is standing right behind him.

    After his dog is kicked off a bridge, San Diego's premier newsreader played by Will Ferrell has a meltdown in a phone booth.

    As Bill Murray's weatherman realizes, for the first time. that he is living the same day over again, his stuttering intro is more accurate than he realizes.

    Two strangers end up sharing a bed and wake up spooning one another. However, John Candy's hand is not where he thinks it is.

    When hapless cop Frank Drebin's beau tells him how lucky she is to be with him, Frank doesn't bother changing his gender when responding.

    Ben Stiller's Derek Zoolander is critical of the building model of his children's reading center.
