Williams' anti-crime, anti-violence message gets lost amid the film's stunning visual style. Childhood pals Tommy (Simmons) and Sin (Jones) make fairly good living as small-time crooks, but Tommy wants more and lures a reluctant Sin into the drug trade. Sin's wife (Watkins) persuades him to go clean, but Tommy's in way too deep with the wrong people to make a break. When the business turns violent, Tommy finds himself in a no-win situation. Rap-video director Williams crosses over with style and flair, and rappers DMX, Nas and T-Boz show a range that reaches beyond the microphone.
