Henry WOODS, Congress, PA (1764-1826)

WOODS Henry , a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Bedford, Bedford County, Pa., in 1764; received a limited schooling; attended the subscription schools of Bedford County, Pa.; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1792 and commenced practice in Bedford, Pa.; elected as a Federalist to the Sixth and Seventh Congresses (March 4, 1799-March 3, 1803); engaged as a land speculator; died in Bedford, Pa., in 1826.
