film actor

An American icon, Stewart will be remembered for his sincere, all-American charm and his slow drawl. He won a 1940 Best Actor Oscar for The Philadelphia Story and received four other Oscar nominations, as well as an honorary statue. He was a decorated fighter pilot in World War II and retired as brigadier general in 1959.
