Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth is an Australian actor whose breakout screen role was as Gale, the childhood friend of protagonist Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), in the 2012 film The Hunger Games. Liam Hemsworth's turn in the film version of the novel by Suzanne Collins followed months of tabloid attention: not only was Hemsworth hailed as an up-and-coming film star, he was dating Miley Cyrus, and his older brother, Chris Hemsworth, was the star of Thor (2011). Liam got his start in Australian television, appearing as a recurring character in Neighbors in 2007 and 2008, and The Elephant Princess in 2008 and 2009. His brother beat him out for the role of Thor, but Liam landed roles in the thriller Triangle (2009) and the romance The Last Song (2010, co-starring Cyrus). Although neither of those movies received widespread attention, Hemsworth found himself in the middle of Hollywood media hype with the film The Hunger Games. In June of 2012, he and Miley Cyrus became engaged to be married.
