David Rockefeller

David Rockefeller was a billionaire whose powers as an international businessman outpaced those of his grandfather, John D. Rockefeller, one of the richest men iofearly 20th century America. David Rockefeller was the youngest of six, and his father was the only heir to John D. Rockefeller's fortune. David graduated from Harvard in 1936, did graduate work in economics (a doctorate in 1940), and was a military intelligence officer during World War II, achieving the rank of captain by the war's end. He then began his long relationship with the Chase National Bank (later the Chase Manhattan Bank, and now JPMorgan Chase). His family connections were extensive, and Rockefeller moved up the ranks as a banker, becoming the Chief Executive Officer of Chase in 1969. David Rockefeller's career was marked by extending Chase's banking internationally -- including, during the 1970s, into the Soviet Union and China. At the same time, he was part of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Tri-Lateral Commission and the Bilderberg meetings -- which led to Rockefeller being a favorite among Illuminati-fearing conspiracy theorists who railed against his open advocacy for "globalism." It's said that he gave about $900 million to charity over his long life, most notably to art and educational institutions. He was also known for his vast collection of the insect order Coleoptera (specifically, beetles).
