Nastassja Kinski Biography

Nastassja Kinski

(Nastassja Aglaia Nakszynski)
Born: 1/24/1960
Birthplace: Berlin, Germany

Best known for her title role in Tess (1979), this aloof, sultry actress made her film debut in False Moves (1975), directed by the legendary Wim Wenders, whose wife discovered the fourteen-year-old Kinski dancing in a Munich nightclub. Kinski went on to appear in two other Wenders films, Paris, Texas (1984) and Faraway, So Close (1993). Off-screen, Kinksi has created minor scandals by posing nude and wrapped in a snake for a poster by Richard Avedon, and pursuing intergenerational romances with director Roman Polanski and entrepreneur Quincy Jones, by whom she has a child.
