East Moline mōlēn´ [key], city (1990 pop. 20,147), Rock Island co., NW Ill., a suburb of Moline, on the Mississippi River; inc. 1907. East Moline, along with Moline , Rock Island , and Davenport , Iowa, was formerly regarded as one of the Quad Cities, but the growth of Bettendorf , Iowa, resulted in its displacing East Moline from the group. Near East Moline are significant railroad repair shops. The city has a correctional center.
