Disaster Aid for Puerto Rico Increased
On November 2, President Trump agreed to increase the amount of aid given to Puerto Rico after devastating damage due to Hurricane Maria. This new agreement has increased FEMA’s coverage from 75% to 90%. (Reuters)

Five Dead from Flash Flood in Malaysia
Malaysia has been experiencing torrential rains, resulting in a flash flood that killed five people on November 5. Troops have been deployed to help rescue thousands of people displaced by the increasing flooding. (Reuters)

Vietnam Storm Kills 61
On November 6, Vietnam’s government stated that an estimated 61 people have died as a result of flooding. As flooding continues, the government worries that reservoirs are reaching capacity and dams are close to breaking. (Reuters)

Landslide in Colombia
After days of heavy rain, Colombia experienced a mudslide on November 8 that left 4 people dead and another 18 listed as missing. 3,000 people were evacuated before the landslide occurred due to the regularity of landslides in Colombia. (Reuters)

2017’s Deadliest Earthquake hits Iraq and Iran
On November 12, both Iran and Iraq were struck by a deadly earthquake that left over 500 people dead and thousands more injured. The earthquake was recorded to be a magnitude of 7.3. (CNN)

Costa Rica Struck by an Earthquake
On November 12, US Geological Survey revealed that Costa Rica had experienced a 6.5 magnitude earthquake. An official death toll has not been released, as emergency response agencies continue their work. (CNN)

Deadly Floods Hit Greece
On November 15, flash floods in Greece killed approximately 15 people. Mandra, Nea Peramos and Megara are the three cities with the most damage, and the country is currently in a period of mourning after this disaster. (BBC)

Rare Earthquake in South Korea
On November 15, a rare earthquake in South Korea resulted in a delay of university entrance exams. Though exams were postponed, there have not been any reported deaths. (Reuters)

Indonesia Evacuates from Bali Volcano
On November 26, an eruption warning for Mount Agung volcano was issued. In light of the warning, 40,000 people have been evacuated, but Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency stated they need to evacuate tens of thousands more in preparation. (Reuters)

Earthquake in Delaware
On November 30, an earthquake in Delaware was reported to be 4.1 magnitude. The shake was felt in Baltimore and New York, as well, but no injuries have been reported. (CNN)
