Not a year goes by when bluegrass fans don't find themselves thinking, “Thank God for Rounder Records.” Not satisfied with breaking Alison Krauss and holding on to her despite irresistible offers from far larger predators, the plucky Cambridge, Massachusetts, company-that-could has picked up this East Tennessee duo. Music must float in the air down there, and the Stevens sisters seem to exhale with the wisdom of generations. Familiar tunes: “My Old Friend the Blues” by Steve Earle, “Tomorrow Is Forever,” the Dolly Parton-Porter Wagoner hit, and “In My Time of Dying,” featuring the down-home influence of Led Zeppelin.
