Myers's hilarious 1960s spy spoof satirizes Hollywood icons that range from Bond to Batman. When his arch nemesis, Dr. Evil (Myers), is cryogenically frozen in the late 1960s and sent into outer space, Powers (also Myers) volunteers to freeze himself in the event of Evil's return. Thirty years later, Powers is thawed and reemerges with his horrible teeth and flowing chest hair still intact. With the help of Agent Kensington (Hurley), Powers resumes the pursuit of Dr. Evil. Powers has trouble adapting to the times, discovering that the free love and his quest of “shagging” that he left behind are antiquated in the less-than-swinging 1990s. Myers's Carnaby Street wardrobe alone makes it a worthy watch, but it's his gentle, almost reverential, satire that takes the film over the top.
