Randy Pausch was a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, who delivered a speech in September 2007 called the "Last Lecture" which inspired many to live. He wrote the speech after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given six months to live. Pausch wanted to leave a video memory of himself for his children. The video of his lecture spread across the internet and was translated into dozens of languages. Pausch also wrote a book based on his lecture entitled "The Last Lecture," which became a bestseller in 2008.
