author of The Da Vinci Code, which has sold more than 40 million copies, making it one of the best-selling novels of all time, was accused of stealing the theme of his book from an earlier book, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, by British writers Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh. The authors sued Random House, the publisher of The Da Vinci Code, for copyright infringement, saying Brown stole the “architecture” of their book. In April, Britain's High Court ruled in Random House's favor.
