Florence Prag KAHN, Congress, CA (1866-1948)
KAHN Florence Prag , a Representative from California; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 9, 1866; moved to California in 1869 with her parents, who settled in San Francisco; graduated from Girls' High School, San Francisco, Calif., 1883; A.B., University of California, Berkeley, Calif., 1887; elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of her husband, United States Representative-elect Julius Kahn, and reelected to the five succeeding Congresses (February 17, 1925-January 3, 1937); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Seventy-fifth Congress in 1936; died on November 16, 1948, in San Francisco, Calif.; interment in Home of Peace Cemetery, Colma, Calif.
