Ronnie Lane 1997 Deaths
Ronnie Lane
bassistLane founded the English rock band Small Faces in 1964 with Steve Marriott. The band's single “Itchycoo Park” introduced phase-distorted guitar to these shores. Lane left Small Faces, named so because each member was short, in 1973 and formed another band, Slim Chance. Though he was stricken with multiple sclerosis, Lane continued to perform, in a wheelchair, until the late 1980s. His recordings with Small Faces include Ogden's Nut Gone Flake.
