Dave Matthews Biography

Founder of the Dave Matthews Band, a jazz-influenced rock and roll group that grew from touring the United States in a station wagon and releasing a self-produced album to becoming established stars with their major label release, Under the Table and Dreaming (1994). Their follow-ups Crash (1996) and Before These Cowded Streets (1998) have brought them increased airtime and notoriety. The band earned a Grammy for Best Rock Performance for “So Much To Say.” Band members include Leroi Moore, saxophonist; Boyd Tinsley, violinist; Stefan Lessard, bassist; and Carter Beauford, drummer.
