Bob Dyk was a broadcast journalist whose career spanned almost 50 years. He covered everything from natural disasters to the Iran hostage crisis. Dyk started his career as an editorial assistant for CBS news. In 1979, when he worked for ABC news he was the first journalist reporting from Tehran on the U.S. Embassy hostage crisis. His broadcasts from Tehran were aired nightly, later becoming the show, Nightline.
