The Question:

How fast is the Earth turning?

The Answer:

Well, it depends on where you are. But let's suppose you had the power to hover above the Earth's equator. The Earth's circumference at the equator is around 25,0000 miles. And it takes the Earth 24 hours to rotate once. That means that 25,000 miles of the Earth's surface would pass under you in 24 hours at a speed of (250000/24) or roughly 1,000 mph.

In other words, hold on!
