Who We Are

We have been in the business of answering questions for more than half a century. Between 1938 and 1952, "Information Please" was the leading radio quiz show whose guests included Alfred Hitchcock, Will Rogers, Leonard Bernstein, Gracie Allen, Sinclair Lewis, and Orson Welles. In 1947, the first Information Please® Almanac was compiled, and it has been published annually ever since.

In addition to the original general-knowledge almanac, we publish almanacs on sports, entertainment, business, and kids. On 60 Minutes Andy Rooney praised almanacs, commenting , "If I'm ever sent to prison for a year for impersonating a person who says he knows what he's talking about on TV, I'll take these almanacs with me and just read all day every day in my cell. By the time I get out I'll know all about everything."

Having branched out from radio to books and now to the Internet, our recent debut in electronic form will surely benefit from any improvements you might suggest. We are working to make searching faster, easier, and more fun and productive. Please let us know what you think and send your comments to
