    On this date in 1984, heavy rains brought catastrophic floods to the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area. The storm clouds produced up to 13 inches of rain in some areas in just six hours. The flooding claimed 14 lives and caused $90 million in damage. Nearly 5,000 cars and 750 homes were ruined by the fast-rising water.
