Most Common Last Names

Although Smith remains the most common surname in America, six Hispanic names rank in the top 25 most common surnames in the nation. In addition, the latest Census Bureau data found that the number of Hispanics living in the U.S. increased 43% from 2000 to 2010. Garcia jumped from number 18 to number 8 on the list, and

The surname Lee also made the top 25—ranked number 22 in the country—indicating a continuing rise in the Asian American population.
