The European Championships of Men's Clubs. The semifinals and finals of the EuroLeague were played April 18 and 20 at Thessaloniki, Greece. FIBA, the international basketball federation, announced plans at the championships for a new format and name for the EuroLeague. The newly-dubbed SuproLeague, featuring 24 European clubs, debuted in September of 2000 and will climax in spring 2001 with the “FIBA SuproLeague Final Four”.
