former radio voice of NY Yankees and then Boston Red Sox from 1949–66; TV play-by-play man for AFL, NFL and major league baseball; has broadcast World Series, All-Star Games, Rose Bowls, Super Bowls, Olympics and NCAA Final Fours for all 3 networks; hosted “The American Sportsman.”
