Heike Drechsler

Born: Dec. 16, 1964
German long jumper and sprinter

East German before reunification in 1991; set world long jump record (24-21/4) in 1988; won long jump gold medals at 1992 Olympics and 1983 and '93 World Championships; won silver medal in long jump and bronze medals in both 100- and 200-meter sprints at 1988 Olympics.
