She later moved to the United States and became a gossip columnist in Hollywood. Graham became most famous as the mistress of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald, who spent his last years as a Hollywood scriptwriter. While Graham helped Fitzgerald negotiate Hollywood, he helped her complete her education through a reading program, which she described in her book, College of One.
