Sublime

alternative rock band

The three members of Sublime teamed up in 1988, and in 1992 they founded the label Skunk Records to launch their first CD, 40 oz to Freedom. It was an independent-label success, breaking into the Billboard charts. They followed up with Robbin' the Hood (1994), but their real breakthrough came with Sublime (1996), which includes the hits “What I Got,” “Wrong Way,” and “Doin' Time.” Tragically, Brad Nowell, the group's singer, died shortly before the album was released, and the group has disbanded. Other members included Floyd “Bud” Gaugh, drummer and Eric Wilson, bassist.
